FESTIVITIES UNDER SIEGE

Following our ideas on planetary comradeship, during the last months we have talked to allies from six continents about what besieges them and what festivities keep them going, despite the unbearable state of matter at the moment. They are gathering in Ljubljana, to speak not from margins, not from alternative practices but right from the center of the world that knows how to coexist with and despite the siege.

From 9.00AM-10.00PM straight

Krater and its sister feral lands: The Mladinsko Theatre, MAO Slovenia, Plava Laguna, Bežigrad Library, Ulca, Tivoli kare

Across three days, the feral grounds will open to celebrate unruly kin: architects holding parks open through occupation, lawyers plotting paths toward nature’s liberation, artists dwelling in the neglected zones of administration, landscape architects guiding walks through the feral undergrowth, curators turning residencies into commons, tiger mosquitoes redrawing the city with their bites, and many others — all reclaiming the city and its many natures otherwise.

With voices arriving from Colombia, Brazil, Europe, and Ghana, we will gather and swing through times of multiple siege — ecological, media, political, and personal — turning festivity into a form of resistance to apocalypse and resignation, especially when the world insists there is so little left to celebrate.

Festivities under siege is an ongoing invitation to keep producing the worlds, where we don't give up on festivities, take inspiration seriously, stand for tenderness, speak up, show up, plot and conspire, rely on critical thought, feral tactics, and trust in creativity. Festivities are not oblivious to sieges; they live despite and in parallel with global, structural, systemic, and personal sieges.

Next week, watch out for conference tickets around the city! They might be magnetic. See you around at the festivities under siege!
